"웹 전체가 서비스 배포를 위한 대안"이라며, 이 점에서 iOS 사용자는 무리해서 App Store 서비스만을 사용해야 하는 것은 아니라는 주장을 하고 있습니다. 사실 웹사이트에서 네이티브 앱처럼 작동하는 PWA라는 방식도 있기 때문에, 사용자는 App Store를 거치지 않고도 앱과 유사한 환경을 체험할 수 있습니다

또한 Apple은 Google Play 및 Steam, Amazon 앱스토어 등과 경쟁상태에 있어서 독점과는 거리가 멀다고 강조합니다.

Apple은 "ACCC는 Apple의 시장지배력에 따라 관련 시장이 쇠퇴한다는 잘못된 가정에 근거한 주장을 하고 있다"고 지적하며, ACCC가 그 가정에 대한 충분한 근거가 있는지를 확인하지 않았을 가능성이 있다고 주장합니다.

그러나 iOS에서 앱을 사용하는 경우 App Store를 통해 배포된 것 외에 사용할 수 없는 것은 사실입니다. 2020년 9월 Apple이 Google의 'Stadia'라는 스트리밍 게임을 iOS에서 허용하는 등 지침의 개정을 실시했지만, 이 게임도 '개별적으로 App Store에서 다운로드할 것'이 정해져 있는 등 Apple은 앱 배포에 대해 어떻게든 App Store를 경유시키려고 하고 있습니다.
