아이를 꾸짖고 부하를 질책하는 다양한 영어표현

엄마가 아이를 꾸짖는 경우와 상사가 부하를 꾸짖는 상황은 영어로는 다른 단어가 사용되기 때문에 제대로 구분해야 오해될 소지가 없습니다.


I scolded my son because he did not tidy up the room.
아들이 방을 정리하지 않았기 때문에 나는 그를 꾸짖습니다.

My wife scolded our daughter because she came home two hours later than the promised time.
귀가가 약속보다 2시간이나 늦었기 때문에 아내는 딸을 꾸짖습니다.

My boss got mad at me because I could not meet the quota for this month.
나는 이번달 매출목표치를 달성하지 못하여 상사에게 질책을 받았습니다.

My son's teacher got mad at him as he did not do his homework.
내 아들은 숙제를 하지않아 선생님에게 혼났어요.

She chewed him out as he was late for a date.
그녀는 그가 데이트 약속에 늦은 것을 꾸짖습니다.

I chewed the waiter out because his service was not good.
웨이터의 대응이 나빴기 때문에 나는 그를 꾸짖습니다.

The teacher told him off for chattering in the class.
선생님은 수업시간에 잡담을 하고 있던 그를 꾸짖습니다.

The teacher told him off for not answering loudly enough.
선생님은 그의 대답하는 목소리가 작았다고 꾸짖습니다.

I reprimanded my subordinate because he always comes up with excuses.
그는 항상 변명을 하는 부하를 견책했습니다.

I was reprimanded by the boss as my work speed is slow.
나는 일의 속도가 느리다고 상사에게 질책을 받았습니다.

A stranger lectured me when I was smoking at the station.
내가 역에서 담배를 피우자 모르는 사람이 설교했습니다.

The manager yelled at his subordinate who was sleeping during a meeting.
부장은 회의에서 졸고 있던 부하에게 고함쳤습니다.

I warned my subordinate not to be late to work.
나는 직장에 절대 지각하지 않도록 부하에게 경고했습니다.

My wife warned me that the plate was still very hot.
아내는 접시가 아직 너무 뜨겁다고 저에게 경고했습니다.

He advised his subordinate not to do emailing during a meeting.
그는 회의 중에 전자메일 교환을 하지 않도록 부하에게 충고했습니다.

The teacher scolded the students for making a mess.
선생님은 어지럽힌 학생들을 꾸짖습니다.
